There's no doubt about which of these records is more socially important, but there's also no question about which one gets played in my apartment when I want to hear something badass.

I think that's where it rocks.
It goes into a very convincing defense of GnFnR as the definitive hair metal band. They're all show. And there will never be another band like them.

I'm with you on the 'better get funny fast tip' too. It gets a lot of mileage out of Klosterman's nostalgic navel gazing. But as someone talking about the relationship people have with music and it's importance in your life, it does a really good job.
